April’s Quilt College is Just Around the Corner!

If you still haven’t marked your calendars for Quilt College, it’s time to do so. For new members…Quilt College is your chance to take up to four classes taught by Guild members at the bargain price of $15.00 for your registration (note: some classes may require a kit fee or the purchase of a pattern or book). Look for class descriptions and registration forms in your next couple newsletters.

The event happens on April 27th and 28th, 2012 at the Polk County Fairgrounds in Rickreall. Friday’s classes are from 1:30pm to 4:30pm and from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Saturday’s classes are from 9:00am to noon and from 1:30pm to 4:30pm.

There will be some demonstrations during the breaks between classes. We will not have meals available this year, so you will need to plan to carry your lunch/dinner or go to one of the local eateries such as Farrol’s, Big Town Hero, etc. We will have a list of possible places to lunch in a future article.

There is much we can learn from each other and Quilt College is a wonderful way to learn new skills and to make new projects. It is also a great way to get to know one another better. We will be seeking volunteers to help set up, take down and help run the event and I hope we can count on many of you to help.

We will have samples and write ups about the classes available at February’s Guild meeting. Some may be available at our January meeting to whet your appetites!!  Ron Riley Quilt College Chairman
