9:30 am and 6:30 pm Tell Your Quilt's Story with Susan Beal - a 50-60 minute interactive lecture and "sketchbook tour" including a photo/PowerPoint presentation and in-person examples, in a conversational and inviting style. Topics covered include setting up a sketchbook, swatching and drawing/sketching designs or patchwork, recording important and meaningful details (even months or years later), documenting bee or collective quilts and guild history, digital records of quilts and other special projects, labeling your own quilts (from minis and wall quilts to bed quilts), with 3 options for sewing or fusing them on, and creating community - ending with a show and tell of guild members' labels and quilts they've chosen! I am happy to share all my tips, techniques, and sources, including Ex Libris Anonymous who hand-makes all the spiral-bound blank sketchbooks I use, and offers free shipping.
