9:30 am and 6:30 pm Allie grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan, then went to Cornell University. She majored in Design and Environmental Analysis, the basic design studio classes serving her well ever since in her 50 + years as a quilt designer, maker, and author. After their second son graduated high school, Allie went "pro" in the quilting world, publishing three books, teaching, lecturing, and filming online classes. She served on the board of the Quilt Alliance, a non-profit dedicated to preserving, documenting, and sharing quilt stories, meeting many wonderful people in the quilt industry.
